My Type Of Camera
I have read many reviews on the internet. There is no doubt that technology on a Digital SLR has really improve by a lot. And so do image quality. But, I still have my own preference when it comes to the layout of my Digital SLR of choice.
I like it to have a shutter speed dial, just like film SLR.
I like it to have a aperture ring, just like film SLR.
Of course, I would love and auto focus Digital SLR but must have a proper focusing ring just in case I need to focus manually.
Life view is a must and so do tilting or rotating LCD display.
And I want a separate button just for setting the ISO.
When I set the shutter speed dial to 'P' and an aperture ring to 'A', it will be on a fully programmed mode.
When I set the shutter speed dial to 'P' and an aperture ring to 'selected aperture', it will be on a aperture priority mode.
When I set the shutter speed dial to 'selected speed' and an aperture ring to 'A', it will be on a shutter priority mode.
When I set the shutter speed dial to 'selected speed' and an aperture ring to 'selected aperture', it will be on a fully manual mode.
And so on... and so on............
Some how, I just have this feeling that it will be much better that way. But this is just my opinion. May be due to my previous experiences with filed SLR.

Canon Super Zoom
Canon today introduces new super zoom model, SX1 IS and SX 10 IS.
SX1 IS
This camera has features including a 10 Megapixel, 1/2.3-inch CCD, DIGIC 4 Image Processor, 20x optical zoom lens with a shift-type optical Image Stabilizer (IS) system and 2.8-inch widescreen LCD monitor with wide viewing angle. It uses 4 AA batteries to shoot up to approx. 160 images (based on the CIPA standard when the LCD monitor is on), and SD memory cards, SDHC memory cards, MultiMediaCards, MMCplus cards and HC MMCplus cards for the recording media. Images are utilized with a direct print compatible printer, computer and TV via Hi-Speed USB. The dimensions (excluding protrusions) of the main body are 127.5 x 88.3 x 87.7 mm (5.0 x 3.5 x 3.5 in.) and the weight is approximately 585 g (20.6 oz.).

More Camera Being Introduce To The Market
More camera have been released to the market by the manufacturers.
In the super zoom series, Olympus SP565 with 20x zoom and Panasonic FZ28 with 18x zoom.
In the entry level DSLR, Canon EOS450D and EOS1000.
In the pro level DSLR Nikon releases D90 and Sony with their A900.
In the 4:3 format, Panasonic just announce their G1 Interchangeable Lenses Digital Camera, now no more called DSLR.
Many more model was launch prior to the Photokina 2008 Exhibition and many more on the way. So, for those whom are looking for new camera, I hope you can be patient because more choices is coming!

Nikon P80
I love super zoom cameras. This one is really going to make me crazy. Nikon branded 18x zoom. I just can not wait it to be on the market.
Nikon has not responded in the super zoom series, but when they do, it will be something like this.... P80.

Our choices
Digital imaging is new but the technology is improving very rapidly. 4 year ago, 4Mp recording is a luxury but now an entry level camera has a recording capability of at least 5Mp.
Many established camera manufacturer like Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Ricoh are producing very high quality camera for end user. They produces a ranges of cameras for beginners and advance user. They also have a lot of special camera to satisfy the need of a lay person whom like to take quality family photos.
Digital cameras varies in quality, functionality and sizes. They are made to satisfy certain group of people.
But, one of the most important development is the emerging of new manufacturer like Panasonic, Sony, Kodak and a few more. They are gaining quite a big part of the digital camera market. Their involvement and commitment provide options to user like us. We can now compare an select the best that suit our needs and budget.
There is also a lot of information on digital imaging available nowadays. They are either on printout like magazines and books, or on digital copies like ebook and Internet web site. Both provides good support to user like us whom requires these information just to get around comfortably.

My Digital Camera
I bought a digital camera a few month ago. To most photographers, it may be an entry level. But to me, that is the best than I can afford.
It is a Sony Cybershot H5. With capability of capturing images at 7.2Mp and 12x optical zoom. I am going to try to make the best out of it.

I am back!
When I got married, things got a lot tougher. My financial situation worsten. So, I stop taking photos. I had a camera but a point and shoot version, to take photos of my kids.
Until a few month ago. I decided to spent some money on a reasonably good digital camera. I decided to continue where I had left. Digital photography offer a lower operation cost. No expensive film, no processing fee, no printing unless it is a final products.
And.... I am back...........

My Next Camera
It was fun taking photos of family and friends. But it was very costly.
So, I decided to finance myself by selling some of the photos. I was quite sucessfull. I manage to accumulate some cash and got my self a better camera.
It was a compact 35mm camera. Since the photos got better, I managed to sell more photos.
I managed to save some money and bought myself a full function 35mm SLR when I was 16. It was a Ricoh A100.
At 18, I managed to by a Ricoh XRP. A full function SLR with a program mode.
And the fun continues...............

My First Camera
I started photography when I was 13. I saw an advertisement of a camera in the newspaper selling at S$19.90. So, I sent some money to my brother in Singapore and asked him to buy it for me.
I got it a month later when my brother came back to my home town. I took photographs ever since.
